ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ericka O’Rourke received national recognition for her creative talents by the age of 15 when her watercolor painting was selected from over 150,000 entries to earn a Scholastic Art National Gold Medal, and her first art sale into a Corporate Collection. The following year Ericka was awarded the prestigious New Jersey Governor's Art Award.
Continuing focus on her lifelong art passions, Ericka studied painting, photography and ceramics and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University.
In 1994, Ericka entered the commercial art world as a designer for Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing (subsequently Random House Publishing) in New York City. Her fine art work branched off into a collaboration of mediums in the digital realm and Ericka developed her work into a digital photo illustration style that led to her success in book cover art. Ericka continued as a designer, art educator and graphic artist for over 25 years during which her art was published on over 300 book covers. Her paintings and ceramics are in both public and private collections worldwide.
Ericka now resides and works in Upper Freehold, New Jersey and New Harbor, Maine.
