Ericka O'Rourke

Award-winning artist Ericka O'Rourke creates her art as an exploration of relationships and connections to the natural world. She is inspired by geologic formations, walks along the coast, past civilizations, flora and fauna - the inherent natural beauty in the surfaces, textures, colors, and organic forms.  She received her BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts with concentrations in painting, ceramics, printmaking, and photography.  Ericka is also an accomplished commercial artist / designer whose digital photo illustrations and designs grace the covers of over 300 books. Her career as a book designer began in the mid 90’s working on site in New York City for Bantam Doubleday Dell, subsequently Random House Publishing. Ericka currently works as an on site freelance designer for Penguin Randomhouse and divides her time between her NJ and Maine based home studios. Her work is represented in private and corporate collections internationally.
